John's practice, in addition focuses on corporate and international corporate law.
John earned his Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Polymer & Textile
Chemistry with a Certificate in Polymer Engineering, from the Georgia Institute of
Technology in 1991. He earned his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University in
1994.
Background and Key Experience:
After his admission to practice in the State and Superior Courts of Georgia, John
pursued a solo practice in general civil law. He served as general counsel to
several small companies, and his practice grew to meet his clients’ needs. From
1994-2007, John was active in small corporate and commercial practice; general
and commercial litigation; family law; real estate litigation, including leases and
closings; collections; bankruptcy; zoning; administrative and municipal law;
contracts and contract negotiations; international transactions; wills, trusts and
estate planning; civil rights litigation and corporate acquisitions.
During this period, John became active in international business development,
representing American companies establishing operations in Europe, and
European companies establishing operations in the United States. His clients
included The Saxony Economic Development Corporation (Wirtschaftsförderung
Sachsen), Dresden Porcelain (Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur Dresden GmbH)
and the Leipzig Trade Fair (Leipziger Messe).
Important Memberships:
John is admitted to practice in the State and Superior Courts in Georgia, as well
as the Federal Courts of the Northern District of Georgia and the Georgia Court of
Appeals. John is also a member of the World Trade Center of Atlanta.
John is also an active participant in The FairFund Foundation (London and Dublin)
as its American “Ambassador” and Head of African Relations. John works with
companies developing infrastructure and energy projects in Ethiopia, Kenya,
Uganda and Ghana.
